Provide Senior Level UNIX based Application Support on an HP-UX System.  System was “C” based customization of an enterprise solution framework.  Write SQL queries to support Business Analysis.  Perform System Administration and Process management for the Product Data Management program.

Accomplishments

w         Reduced a 55 day surgical kit product configuration Time to Market, and brought it to under 20 days.

w         Managed 80 user workflows in a time critical highly complex 330 step systems/business process, reported process performances and managed process knowledge, facilitated by Metaphase versions 3.0 and 3.2

w         Maintained and improved the Metaphase system to adapt to changing business processes

w         Acted as System Administrator, and responsible for FDA compliance on all product data touched by the system

Project Description

“In the trenches” project facilitation and technical coordinator for Miscellaneous Billing System at NCR.  Wrote Korn and Bourne shell UNIX scripts to support system development and implementation.  Wrote C programs to manipulate system output and feed to Oracle databases.  Worked with several variants of UNIX.  Wrote PL/SQL scripts to load data into Oracle Financial package.

Accomplishments

w         Delivered on time and under budget despite significant project challenges on both technical and knowledge management fronts.

w         After implementation, the Miscellaneous System was the most accurate billing system throughout their enterprise.  For each $4MM, we were able to identify only 40 pennies off from reported vs. invoiced amounts.  Much more expensive billing implementations at NCR were usually replete with errors, which sometimes ran into the millions of dollars.

w         Managed small team of business area experts and developers.  Drew talent in from the entire Ohio region to make this project happen.

w         Designed and coded Supplier Quality Metrics system in Visual Basic 6.0 (about 10,000 lines of code).  Won “High Software Quality” recognition from management

w         Designed UNIX based Secure File Transfer mechanism which works with Airline Service departments.  This also incorporated several custom C programming efforts.
